Sarina Ghent
Nurse Practitioner
Any of Sarina's patients will know that she has a passion for health and well-being. Her journey to get to Mindstride has been a long one with many experiences from more learning, mentoring and working with diverse populations. Sarina is a compassionate care provider that started her journey as a hospital volunteer just north of Toronto many years ago. She honed that passion while studying health sciences at Waterloo, while also playing on the varsity rugby team for a season and providing athletic therapy to the swim team for a season. She completed her master's in public health in Thunder Bay and returned to Toronto to do her Nursing degree. With all that schooling behind her, she challenged herself to provide pediatric oncology care at the world-renowned Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto.
Then life adventures were calling where she and her husband ventured to New Zealand. Where Sarina embarked on pediatric care in the capital. On return to Canada, they settled in Ottawa and Sarina kept up her pediatric oncology practice while embarking on her nurse practitioner training. Once completed, she began working at a Nurse Practitioner Led Clinic in Glengarry, but the commute and family life became priority, and her career moved closer to home to a clinic in the West End, West Carleton Family Health Team. Under the mentorship of the many doctors, nurse practitioners, physician assistants and many other health care professionals, Sarina molded herself into the knowledgeable, compassionate primary health care NP you see today at Mindstride.
Sarina looks forward to welcoming Mindstride clients to embark on a journey of health discovery and wellbeing. She sees clients for acute care issues, mental health, chronic conditions, preventative health, and small procedures.
